1, What is the full name of your character?

Melada Sunstriker.

2, What is the name of your character as it appears in-game (including special characters)?

Melada

3, Level and class:

Rogue, 98.

4, How long have you been roleplaying in WoW and without?

I've been roleplaying in WoW on and off since 2008 and I've dabbled in tabletop games, mostly as a GM.

5, What is your age range? (Options are 14-17, 18-21, 22-25, and 26+)

22-25.

6, What is the back-story and history of your character? (Feel free to be as detailed as you would like.)

Melada was a Farstrider, a veteran of the Second and Third Great Wars. During the Fall of Quel'Thalas, she deserted her unit and attempted to rescue her family when all seemed lost in the face of the Scourge invasion. In the end, she was only able to save her daughter, Velannis Sunstriker. The consequences of her decision were the loss of her honor, the deaths of all other members of her immediate family, and the severing of her connections to her ancestral homeland and people for the time being.

The pair found refuge far to the south in Booty Bay and it was here, free of the traditions and judgement of her people, that Melada found her love for gadgets and firearms. In time, mother and daughter would sail across the sea to Kalimdor, traveling to the different towns of the Steamwheedle Cartel (as well as The Mirage Raceway in what was once the Shimmering Flats, pre-Cataclysm) in pursuit of work and engineering knowledge. Eventually, Melada would become learned enough to call herself an Engineer and made a name for herself as a mercenary, combining new technologies with her Farstrider training.

Time continued to pass as time often does; Melada kept food on the table and a roof over her daughter's head whilst sharpening her skills. One day while in Everlook, astonishing news came in. Her people, now calling themselves Sin'dorei, had joined the Horde! While the Engineer had spent several years becoming somewhat accustomed to other peoples, including the more savage races of the world, she never would have thought that the elves would make an alliance with their barbaric former enemies. If her people were resorting to such desperate measures to ensure their survival then surely, they would welcome back a wayward daughter and allow her to serve and repent in exchange for Velannis' safety behind Silvermoon's restored walls? Several weeks later, mother and daughter once again crossed the sea, this time by zeppelin departing from Orgrimmar. Choosing not to linger within the Undercity upon landing, the pair quickly arranged passage to Silvermoon. After acquiring an apartment for her now teenage daughter and kissing her goodbye, Melada made her way to the Outlands and joined the war effort; she's continued to serve in one form or another throughout the wars that have followed, though never again as a member of her once beloved Farstriders.

7, Tell us about the personality of your character.

Melada is a survivor, first and foremost. However, it's not herself that she lives for but rather her daughter, Velannis. Though now that her little girl is a woman in her own right, the Engineer finds herself struggling to find a new purpose. Although time away from her people has made her somewhat eccentric and rather unorthodox in comparison to the Sin'dorei who never strayed, she knows pain, suffering, and loss just as well as any of her kin.

The engineer is always a professional on the field of battle and finds herself continuously drawn to conflict in the pursuit of gold she no longer needs because she doesn't know what else to do with herself after over a decade of putting food on the table with her gun. What she doesn't want to admit to herself is that a significant part of her enjoys, perhaps even craves this lifestyle. One thing she does know is that she desires to work with a crew whom will have her back and can appreciate her skills and experiences.

8, What does your character look like?

Melada's stands at six feet tall with ginger red hair most often tied back in a ponytail to keep it out of her face. Her profession is clear from looking at her; she's almost always visibly armed with at least one long gun over her shoulder and a sidearm on her hip in addition to the tools, gadgets, and explosives that are either stored in or attached to the utility belt around her waist which is a gadget in and of itself, one of several wearable 'aces up her sleeve' that appear to be nothing more than clothing or armor to the untrained eye. She's rarely seen without goggles over her eyes with her favorite pair being converted from Haris Pilton's luxury exclusive Ruby Shades line.

9, What does your character think of their warchief, Sylvanas Windrunner?

Better than Garrosh, for sure! But in all seriousness, Melada privately holds doubts about the Dark Lady, her former Ranger-General Windrunner. It would be a point of pride to have a former Farstrider as the warchief but the Banshee Queen is a different creature entirely from what she was in life. The Engineer has always known the Forsaken to have their own private agendas beyond their allies and although she knows it was dissident faction within the Forsaken that released the New Plague during the Battle for the Wrathgate in Northrend, it just proves her point that one doesn't know what the dead are truly thinking, even when you believe them to be on your side. Furthermore, what wasn't a dissident faction within the Forsaken but rather a decision from the top was Windrunner's choice to use the Val'kyr after the Lich King's defeat; Melada would have liked to have seen all tools, agents, and minions of the Scourge wiped out rather than simply serving a different master. Windrunner's truest colors remain to be seen but as long as there are external threats to be dealt with in a time where external threats are in no short supply, the Horde remains together and the Engineer will keep her doubts to herself.

10, The following questions are designed to get a better grasp of your character within their race and position within the Horde. Only answer the question(s) specified to your character’s race. If the question does not apply to your character perfectly, still try to answer to the best of your ability.

Blood Elf: In the time before the Sunwell was restored, how did your character deal with their addiction to the arcane?

As a Farstrider, Melada never quite experienced the pains of addiction as severely as others of her kind. However, this did not make her immune. Being cut off from her kin didn't allow her abundant access to mana crystals to sate her needs and when she did come across crystals bought off of Goblin merchants at exorbitant prices, the majority of them were used to ease her daughter's addiction pains. With few mana crystals left over for herself, the Engineer used them sparingly and instead took to extended daily meditation as well as engrossing herself in her work.

11, Which pages of the site did you read?

Just about all of them, including a few forum posts.

12, What do the fans of Blight Boar love to drink at their concerts?

13, Can you initiate roleplay on your own? How often do you? How do you?

I can and have in the past, though I find it significantly harder to do so as a currently guildless character who's been out of the game for a while. Walk ups are always valid if something interesting is going on and if I like someone's character, I could always whisper them OOCly and ask to set up some sort of interaction.

14, What does the goblin's trike use for fuel?

15, How involved do you like to be in the guild community outside of the game? Do you enjoy using forums / Discord, etc?

I've usually always had a few people from whatever guild I was in as Facebook friends when I still used the platform and I remember using Ventrilo and Skype rather than Discord which wasn't an option at the time. The last time I was really playing, character blogs on Tumblr were very popular as well. But as long as I'm with cool people, I'll use whatever medium for interaction. Why not, right?

16, Why do you want to join Warforged Legacy?

Warforged Legacy has the appearance of a large, active, stable guild that isn't going anywhere anytime soon and will provide me with enjoyable RP opportunities relevant to current content that I wouldn't have otherwise had access to.

17, Do you know anyone in the guild, and how do you know them?

No.

18, How did you hear about us?

Browsing through guild finder.

19, On average, how often do you log into this character and play? Try to be specific.

I've recently been on hiatus and may go back if I can't find enough activity to justify my subscription but Melada has been my main for a very long time and when I had active friends, they'd want me to make alts that I would then continue to neglect for my main. Time allowing, I'll be on daily for at least a little while.

20, What was the name of the last guild you were in, and why did you leave it?

Truthfully, it's been so long that the name escapes me but it had gone inactive before my hiatus and was disbanded when I reactivated the other day.

21, Anything you would like to add? (Tell us about yourself, etc.)

I pretty much play for RP only these days but I've had a WoW account since middle school back in vanilla and I'm almost 24 now. Like I've mentioned in previous questions, WoW has been a sometimes on and off thing for me and I've recently been on hiatus. When I'm not on my computer, I work, go to school, and see my in person friends a couple of times a week.

22, If you understand that a reason will not be provided if your application is denied type: "I UNDERSTAND" in response to this:

Haven't recruited many elves of late. I think this application is worth consideration though. Approved for interview!
