1, What is the full name of your character?

Unhala Feyfallen (formerly Hala Silversun)

2, What is the name of your character as it appears in-game (including special characters)?

3, Level and class: Demon Hunter level 110 / 870

4, How long have you been roleplaying in WoW and without?

I played all the way Vanilla through Pandaria and then dropped out for WOD. Before Legion started I played through the storyline quests in WOD but not long enough to start grinding quests.

5, What is your age range? (Options are 14-17, 18-21, 22-25, and 26+)

26+ My oldest characters were created in 2006.

6, What is the back-story and history of your character? (Feel free to be as detailed as you would like.)

I am an avid writer and I have quite a few literary stories that explain her various stages in life and her adventures in-game. This is just the basic RP Profile description.

As a child Unhala lived an idyllic young life just outside of Silvermoon, her parents the children of nobles of House Silversun, who rejected their indolent lifestyle, and chose to live in the country to wildcraft and grow rare herbs. She played many hours in the springtime lands until she became a teenager and then an adult.

It was during this time that the terrible tragedy of the Scourge invasion happened, her parents were killed, and she returned to the city to stay with her relatives and help them rebuild. It was by the suggestion of her Aunt she sought out revenge by joining the Blood Knights. After many years of training she became a paladin and it was through this service that she and her companions were ordered as the vanguard expedition to the Outland.

She took with her her foster daughter, also an initiate of the order, and they traveled far and wide upon the orders of the Prince. Many fell in the process of the expedition and she persevered loyally to the cause until she found herself embroiled in the battle of Tempest Keep.

With great regret she watched as innocents were slaughtered and the Exodar sabotaged. During that battle she was beaten to the ground by a Draenei Paladin and her spine broken. If not for her foster daughter and a few favors owed she would have been left to die in the fields of the Netherstorm.

She was taken to the Black Temple to recover, but she lost the use of her right arm and right leg, despite the healer’s attempts, all that was left to do was physical therapy. Her daughter kept her going throughout those dark times as they were portioned to the harem of the Black Temple. Unhala, who was known for her previous martial duties in the service of the Prince, was not specifically required to attend, but her daughter had to do her part as a soldier to keep her mother from simply being put out for being disabled.

Not soon after coming there, her daughter went out into Shadowmoon Valley to patrol and was killed by demons. Unhala fell into a great depression and soon after that the Prince retreated from the Black Temple leaving the concubines, the servants, and the demon hunter trainees to determine their own fate. Some were purposely left behind, like Unhala, as an inconvenience. Some attempted to return to Azeroth and some chose to stay with Illidan after their disillusionment with the actions of the Prince.

A senior demon hunter of note took notice of Unhala in the harem, as she was not participating, and inquired on whom she was. They determined that she could be of use and she started training as a Demon Hunter. In general she was maligned for her disability, but she used her skills at influence and her tenacity to power through any reservations they had, because there was a promise of redemption as well as revenge that lay beyond this trial.

To make a long story short, and to save some mystery, as I have a whole short story how this happened, she became a Demon Hunter which in the process healed her affliction. After the razing of the Black Temple by Cordana Felsong, she was imprisoned in the Vault and left to churn in her own dreams and nightmares.

When she was freed the world had changed. She had missed years of events and everyone spoke of things she did not understand. She did her best to fit in by covering up her tattoos and filing down her horns to help integrate back into society. She had dreamed of being able to walk among the people again and she will do anything to be taken as normal.

However, she is not normal. Between the constant screeching of her demon-side and the waves of information from her over-tuned senses, she is often overwhelmed. Yet, the sounds and senses of the city calm her and the Horde itself fascinates her. She joined up with a military outfit for six months to learn more about the Horde, but then she found herself embroiled in a A/H turf war, while the Legion threatens the whole of Azeroth. Her sight has turned in a different direction: collaboration.

Here are two of my short, short stories:

The Fight for High Mountain

A Winter's Veil in Suramar (she has more of a cameo, but its a good sample of the results of my RP)

7, Tell us about the personality of your character.

Hala is tenacious and dominant. Due to the time she spent disabled and unable to fight she likes to be a badass and being nearly indestructible as a vengeance demon hunter. Being able to protect her fellow teammates thrills her and gives her purpose.

Her tenacity reflects her vigilant spirit born from her time as a paladin. She will fight for the weak and disabled. She will not leave a man behind in battle. She will not allow others to be victimized. And destroying the Legion is her life.

Thus she is strictly lawful and good with a touch of a chaotic nature which takes her into less savory places, like bars and dives, seeking distraction, but also seeking out the dark places where demons easily hide.

8, What does your character look like?

Unhala is an average height Blood Elf female at 5'6 (and I do use the term intentionally.) Her skin is leathery and tanned darkly from years in the Outland to the point where she is almost red as the clay of Durotar. She was very pretty once, but the elements of the desert have torn the softness from her features. She has long, sun-bleached blonde hair that is roughly bound into a ponytail. Her body is unnaturally strong, muscled, and her skin toughened to a leathery hide by her fel-blood.

Her eyes are bound with a delicately made metal blindfold, a vestige of her old life's pursuit of fine fashion. She has traditional Illidari green tattoos in a geometric pattern as her demonic bindings. She wears more armor and clothes than the average demon hunter thus steers away from being too immodest and running around in a g-string.

As for her demeanor she generally seems to be on guard at all times, especially in the city where she keeps an eye out for infiltrators. And as tense and guarded as she is, there still is a sense of good humor and steadiness when you interact with her.

9, What does your character think of their warchief, Sylvanas Windrunner?

Though it was a surprise to come out of her prison and end up within the Horde, she is generally proud that the mind of an long-lived, elder elf is running the Horde. However, she bears this with deep concern over the new Warchief’s state of being, both from being touched by the Scourge, her state of undeath, and her possibly affected motivations. (Plus she is generally uninformed of her actions after the Burning Crusade.) Most of all she questions Sylvanas's state of mind as she has already seen a glimpse of her desperate measures taken in Stormhelm. Unhala is waiting for that critical moment when Sylvanas challenges the Horde’s values and motivations and wonders how the population will respond.

10, The following questions are designed to get a better grasp of your character within their race and position within the Horde. Only answer the question(s) specific to your character’s race. If the question does not apply to your character perfectly, still try to answer to the best of your ability.

Blood Elf: In the time before the Sunwell was restored, how did your character deal with their addiction to the arcane?

Hala Silversun was a blood knight previous to the return of the Sunwell which was a difficult, intense lifestyle, especially when they started to feed off the captive Naaru. She lost her connection with this “divine power” when she was nearly killed at Tempest Keep. She instead followed in the path of her Prince, draining mana from whatever she could, and testing the full force of the fel energies he channeled. However, she was made a demon hunter before the return of the Sunwell and imprisoned before she could still truly feel the full effect or understand the profound change that had occurred.

Illidari: What was it that prompted your Illidari to sacrifice everything and become a demon hunter?

Hala came to the Outland as a blood knight; strong, proud, and powerful. She had survived the Scourge invasion and lived through the death of her family. She was resplendent in her armor, riding her war mount. Her people now looked up to her as a paragon. Her daughter looked up to her as well and was the meaning of her life.

The Outland took everything from her that made her “her.” In a single blow, her strong, powerful body was crippled and she was reduced to a piece of carrion to be left on the battleground. If not for her daughter, she’d have been left to die. The girl fought to have her mother brought to safety and then rose every morning and helped her mother regain the ability to walk. It was not until her daughter was killed in service to the Prince by Legion forces, that she truly lost everything that gave her purpose.

When Kael’thas retreated, he left the weak of his court behind, and Lord Illidan offered another path for the lamed Paladin. Her need for revenge fed into her natural tenacity and she became another incarnation of power, a demon hunter of vengeance.

11, Which pages of the site did you read?

The “Who we are” and “FAQa and More” sections and subsections.

12, What does the large feline like to eat?

13, Can you initiate roleplay on your own? How often do you? How do you?

I usually present an opening for people to join me in RP. This is because I am usually in public environments, like taverns and so forth. I buy a drink, comment on life, bring out an interesting pet, and generally be engaging. I don’t rely on being silly or over the top or do OC things. I do wish there were more random demons in disguise so Unhala could do her job more openly and have more related conversations with fellow adventurers about her life's purpose.

14, What does the tiny automobile use for fuel?

15, How involved do you like to be in the guild community outside of the game? Do you enjoy using forums / mumble, etc?

I like to write stories and encourage discussions on lore and fantasy writing. I also like being apart of discussions on Discord and chat stuff. I love to encourage people. They are important because that is how people can reach me when I am not playing wow or online with my alt.

16, Why do you want to join Warforged Legacy?

I am looking for a multi-age/gender RP guild with organized, experienced players who are moving and shaking within the Wyrmrest Accord server. Your guild has a good population and your rules pages show maturity and cover your roleplaying standards in great detail. It shows a good deal of thought goes into what you do and how you moderate your players.

Hopefully that means I could provide myself as PVE support in for things required to progress in the Legion storyline such as quests, mythics, and raids. I work really hard to be a team player and I appreciate teamwork (and even a little praise,) for my efforts in potion making and cooking, as well as my tanking. I am also looking for input on how to be better at what I do both ingame mechanics/class wise and to improve my roleplaying.

What encourages me the most is the frequency of your guild events. I like to mix it up and RP events are very enjoyable. I’ve visited other guilds and what disappointed me was the lack of events or just general opportunities for casual RP and character development. Whether I am tanking a dungeon or chatting over a battlefield, I like to play!

17, Do you know anyone in the guild, and how do you know them?

I don’t think so, but I meet a decent amount of people in Ogrimmar. I don’t visit Silvermoon very often, though.

18, How did you hear about us?

I saw your post in the in-game Guild Finder and then I looked up your web page.

19, On average, how often do you log into this character and play? Try to be specific.

Once a day, most week days, and most weekends. I split my time between my alt mage and my main when there are no events. I use the calendar, discord, and phone aps to keep track of events and I make sure I sign up and show up for events.

20, What was the name of the last guild you were in, and why did you leave it?

The Emberfury Offensive - They did not have enough events or an active, online presence, no PVE game/ Legion story progression support, and I didn’t fit in with their demographic. Otherwise they are a quality bunch of roleplayers and i’d hang out with them ingame and RP anytime.

21, Anything you would like to add? (Tell us about yourself, etc.)

I'm stable person with a stable job in education.

The major part of my career in WoW was spent on PVP servers as a PVP combatant and coming to an well-populated RP server has been such a relief. I learn a little bit more about the more complex aspects of lore every day subsequently. However, roleplaying is not new to me.

I played Ad&D and other tabletop games as well as playing and developing AD&D Forgotten Realms RP on Neverwinter NIghts 2 persistent world servers. I’m a big Bioware fangirl and their philosophy on RPGs and storyline development is one I share.

I add to others RP and I develop my character based off the interactions I have with other characters. Plus I moderate myself and make sure everyone gets a turn to speak and emote. I am just looking to play and enjoy other people’s stories and create new adventures. I use this to feed my writing and inspire me in real life.

Terribly sorry for the delay in getting back to you, Unhala. The holiday season has been unnaturally busy for me between family and some refurnishing/renovations around the house. I will have your answer within the next twenty-four hours, once I have a chance to thoroughly read through your application. Aside from a few lore gaffes or grammatical quirks (Outland, not the outlands, as I'm a nitpicker) this looks decent so far.
